Nuxt: Dot segments bypass server middleware and route rules on page routes

Nuxt renders pages after resolving literal or percent-encoded dot segments, while server middleware, Nitro routing and route rules evaluate the unresolved path. A crafted request such as /%2e/admin can therefore render a protected page while path-keyed checks, redirects and per-route security headers are skipped. The issue affects Nuxt 4.6.0 up to 4.6.2 and requires a client that sends dot segments without browser normalisation.

Nuxt: Authorization bypass via percent-encoded route paths

Nuxt compares routeRules keys with the raw request path, but decodes dynamic and catch-all route parameters during route resolution. A percent-encoded path segment can therefore reach a protected page without matching the intended routeRules entry, so appMiddleware is skipped during server-side rendering. An unauthenticated remote attacker can receive the gated page and its SSR data. The same mismatch affects other app-manifest rules such as redirect, appLayout, ssr, prerender and payload flags.
