Click n Chat WordPress plugin: Unauthenticated SQL injection

CVE-2026-92997High 8.6

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The Click n Chat (Chat Widget Integration) WordPress plugin does not properly validate the 'datacolumn' parameter before using it as a column identifier in a SQL query. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a crafted HTTP request to inject SQL and read database contents, such as user accounts and password hashes. No login is required, so any internet-facing WordPress site with the plugin is exposed.

Affected

  • Click n Chat (Chat Widget Integration) WordPress plugin, all versions before 1.1.3
  • Lower bound of affected versions: Unknown.

Fixed in

  • Version 1.1.3 and later (per WPScan).

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround found.
  • If an update is not possible, disable or remove the plugin.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact partial.
  • Not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. No confirmed exploitation found.
  • Public proof of concept: unconfirmed.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all WordPress sites, including client sites, for the click-n-chat plugin and record versions.
  • Update the plugin to 1.1.3 or later on every site, starting with public sites.
  • If an update is not possible, disable the plugin.
  • Review web server and WordPress logs for unusual requests to the plugin's endpoints. Do not test the issue on production systems.
  • After patching, review admin accounts and consider rotating database and admin credentials on sites that were exposed while vulnerable.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
