Oracle SOA Suite: Improper access control in Fabric Layer allows takeover
Summary
Oracle SOA Suite versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 contain an improper access control weakness (CWE-284) in the Fabric Layer component. A remote attacker with network access via HTTP and a low-privilege account can compromise the product, with a scope change that may affect other products. The vendor describes a successful attack as a takeover of Oracle SOA Suite, and the CVSS base score is 9.9 (critical).
Affected
- Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0
- Oracle SOA Suite 14.1.2.0.0
Fixed in
- Unknown. Patch numbers are listed on the Oracle Critical Patch Update page for October 2026.
Workaround
- Unknown from Oracle.
- Generic recommendation (not verified by Oracle): restrict HTTP access to SOA Suite to trusted IP ranges or VPN.
Exploitation
- Not known to be exploited; CISA SSVC lists exploitation as none.
- No public proof of concept found in the research.
- Automatable: no (CISA SSVC).
Our recommendation
- Check whether SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 is in use and where its HTTP endpoints are reachable.
- Obtain the patch for the October 2026 Oracle CPU from the Oracle advisory and apply it.
- Restrict access to Fabric Layer HTTP endpoints to trusted hosts and VPN, and review low-privilege accounts.
- Monitor for KEV listing and new public exploits, and recheck the NVD record.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
