Oracle SOA Suite: Unauthenticated remote compromise in Fabric Layer

CVE-2026-91230Critical 9.3

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle SOA Suite (Fabric Layer, part of Oracle Fusion Middleware) contains a flaw that allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the product. A successful attack can give access to critical data or to all data accessible to SOA Suite, and allows some unauthorized changes to that data. Because the flaw has a scope change, the impact can extend to other products; the CVSS base score is 9.3 (Critical).

Affected

  • Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0
  • Oracle SOA Suite 14.1.2.0.0

Fixed in

Unknown. The fix is part of Oracle's October 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU); the specific patch numbers for the affected versions were not confirmed in the available sources.

Workaround

  • The CVE record provides no workaround.
  • Restrict access to the SOA Suite HTTP endpoints so that they are not reachable from untrusted networks.
  • Oracle's text for the related CVE-2026-91217 suggests isolating the Fabric Layer by blocking HTTP from untrusted networks; this has not been confirmed for CVE-2026-91230.

Exploitation

  • No confirmed exploitation in the wild.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • EPSS below 1% (OpenCVE snapshot).
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact partial.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 is installed, including in managed WebLogic or Fusion Middleware environments.
  • Block untrusted access to the SOA Suite HTTP endpoints now and confirm that the Fabric Layer ports are not internet-facing.
  • Apply the October 2026 CPU patch for SOA Suite and record the patch number from the Oracle advisory.
  • Review logs for unexpected unauthenticated HTTP requests to SOA Suite since 2026-10-20.
  • Monitor CISA KEV and Oracle updates, as the CVE is recent.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)

Vulnerability in the Oracle SOA Suite product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Fabric Layer). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle SOA Suite. While the vulnerability is in Oracle SOA Suite, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle SOA Suite accessible data as well as unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle SOA Suite accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.3 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N).
