Oracle SOA Suite: Missing authentication in Adapters component
Summary
Oracle SOA Suite, part of Oracle Fusion Middleware, contains a flaw in its Adapters component. An unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP can create, delete or modify data accessible to SOA Suite and can cause a hang or repeatable crash (denial of service). NVD rates it CVSS 9.1 (critical) and lists CWE-306 and CWE-284. The impact depends on the SOA Suite endpoints being reachable from the network.
Affected
- Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0
- Oracle SOA Suite 14.1.2.0.0
Fixed in
Unknown. Oracle's October 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU) advisory is the reference, but no fixed version or patch number has been verified.
Workaround
- No vendor-confirmed workaround known.
- Generic option if patching is not possible: block external HTTP access to SOA Suite Adapters endpoints and allow only trusted internal networks. Effect on this CVE is unverified.
Exploitation
- No known exploitation in the wild and not listed in the CISA KEV catalog as of 21 October 2026.
- No public proof-of-concept known; these reports may be outdated.
- EPSS below 1% (OpenCVE).
- CISA SSVC: automatable yes, exploitation none.
Our recommendation
- Check whether any SOA Suite endpoint is reachable from the internet or untrusted networks and treat exposed systems as urgent.
- Obtain the fixed versions from Oracle's October 2026 CPU advisory and apply the complete SOA Suite patch set, not only this CVE.
- Until patched, restrict HTTP access to Adapters endpoints to trusted internal networks.
- Monitor SOA Suite logs for unexpected requests, data changes and service crashes.
- Note that scoring differs between sources (NVD 9.1; VulDB 6.5) and that the NVD status may still change.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Vulnerability in the Oracle SOA Suite product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Adapters). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle SOA Suite. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle SOA Suite accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Oracle SOA Suite. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.1 (Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H).
