Oracle SOA Suite: Remote compromise via HTTP in Fabric Layer
Summary
Oracle SOA Suite versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 contain a vulnerability in the Fabric Layer component that is reachable over HTTP over the network. An attacker with a low-privileged account can take over the product, and the scope change means that further products may be affected as well. Oracle rates the issue as critical (CVSS 3.1 9.9) and states that it is fixed in the October 2026 Critical Patch Update.
Affected
- Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.4.0
- Oracle SOA Suite 14.1.2.0.0
Fixed in
- Fix included in the Oracle Critical Patch Update of October 2026. Exact patch number or fixed build: Unknown.
Workaround
- Unknown. The CVE record lists no vendor-verified workaround.
- Generic measure (not vendor-confirmed for this CVE): restrict external HTTP access to the SOA Suite front end using firewall rules or network isolation.
Exploitation
- Exploited in the wild: none known.
- Listed in the CISA KEV catalog: no.
- Public proof of concept: none found in the research. This does not prove that none exists.
- CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.
Our recommendation
- Check whether any Oracle SOA Suite instance exists in your environment, including vendor-managed systems.
- Check whether SOA Suite is reachable from the internet; if so, treat it as high priority.
- Apply the October 2026 Oracle Critical Patch Update once the exact patch for your version is confirmed in Oracle's advisory.
- Until patched, restrict HTTP access and review accounts with low privileges, including self-registration and weak credentials.
- Monitor logs of the SOA Suite for unusual HTTP requests and account activity.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
