Oracle Identity Manager Connector: Improper access control via SOAP
Summary
Oracle Identity Manager Connector versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0 contain a flaw classified as improper access control (CWE-284) in the Connectors and Connector Server component. An attacker with high privileges and network access via SOAP can create, delete or modify critical data and access data accessible to the connector. Because the scope changes, the impact can extend beyond Oracle Identity Manager Connector to other products.
Affected
- Oracle Identity Manager Connector 12.2.1.4.0
- Oracle Identity Manager Connector 14.1.2.1.0
Fixed in
Unknown. Apply the October 2026 Critical Patch Update for the affected versions. Exact patch names and build numbers are not confirmed in the sources; check the Oracle advisory.
Workaround
Unknown. No workaround was found in the sources; Oracle's stated remedy is patching.
Exploitation
- Not listed in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog as of 21 October 2026.
- Oracle reports no exploitation for the October 2026 CVEs.
- No public proof of concept found; this is not confirmed absent.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
Our recommendation
- Install the October 2026 Oracle Critical Patch Update for Oracle Identity Manager Connector 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0 at the next maintenance window.
- Prioritise any instance reachable from outside the administrative network.
- Restrict access to the SOAP endpoint and review accounts with high privileges in Oracle Identity Manager.
- Patch the other Oracle Identity Manager Connector CVEs from the same CPU at the same time.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
