WookTeam: Remote code execution in task export interface

CVE-2026-88393Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

WookTeam up to version 1.6.6 contains a code injection flaw (CWE-94) in the project task export endpoint /api/project/task/export. The base64-decoded data parameter is passed into an eval() call, so an attacker can inject arbitrary PHP code and execute commands on the server. The public write-up states that a registered user account is sufficient and that public registration is enabled by default, while the CVSS vector assumes no privileges are required. A public proof of concept is referenced, so internet-exposed instances should be treated as high priority.

Affected

  • WookTeam 1.6.6 and earlier (master and 1.6.x branches, per the public write-up)

Fixed in

Unknown.

Workaround

  • Block or restrict access to /api/project/task/export at the reverse proxy or WAF until a fix is available (general measure, not vendor-confirmed).
  • Limit the WookTeam instance to the internal network or VPN.
  • Disable public registration if it is enabled.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation status 'poc', automatable: yes, technical impact: total.
  • A public write-up with step-by-step reproduction exists (fangtang7/CVE).
  • No evidence of exploitation in the wild was found in the research notes; KEV status is unverified.
  • Authentication requirement is unclear: CVSS states PR:N, the write-up requires a registered account.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all WookTeam instances, including Docker deployments, and check whether any are reachable from the internet.
  • Restrict access to the endpoint or take affected instances offline until a fixed release is confirmed.
  • Review web server logs for requests to /api/project/task/export, especially with unusual data values.
  • Check for unexpected files or processes on the server (for example web shells).
  • Monitor the vendor and upstream project for a fix and update as soon as one is available.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Research sources

Researched and written up in English and German by an AI (Claude by Anthropic) based on NVD, CISA, EPSS and the sources listed. The vendor information is authoritative. Researched on 30 Oct 2026, 21:16.

Original description (NVD)

WookTeam v1.6.6 and before is vulnerable to RCE in the project task export interface /api/project/task/export. The data parameter is base64-decoded and passed directly into the string2array() function in app/Module/Base.php, which executes eval("\$array = $data;") whenever the decoded string starts with array. An attacker can inject arbitrary PHP code into the eval call and achieve RCE.
