Brocade ASCG: Insufficiently protected credentials allow theft of SANnav credentials

CVE-2026-87428High 8.4

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Brocade Active Support Connectivity Gateway (ASCG) before 3.5.0 stores management credentials for onboarded SANnav instances insufficiently protected. A local unauthorized user on the ASCG VM who can send a request to the SANnav host network namespace can extract these credentials. With them, an attacker can compromise the connected SANnav servers or the managed Brocade Fibre Channel switches.

Affected

  • Brocade ASCG versions before 3.5.0

Fixed in

  • Upgrade to Brocade ASCG 3.5.0 or later.

Workaround

  • Unknown. The sources list only the upgrade as a remediation.
  • Restrict shell and console access to the ASCG VM (own recommendation, not from the vendor).

Exploitation

  • No known exploitation in the wild.
  • No public exploit found.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable, partial technical impact.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether ASCG is deployed and which version runs.
  • Upgrade to ASCG 3.5.0 or later. The same release also fixes other ASCG flaws, some of which are unauthenticated (for example CVE-2026-85489, CVE-2026-87424, CVE-2026-85423), so prioritise the upgrade if ASCG is reachable outside the management network.
  • After the upgrade, rotate the SANnav and switch credentials stored in ASCG.
  • Review which accounts have local access to the ASCG VM.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
