Oracle E-Business Suite: Cross-site request forgery in Applications Framework

CVE-2026-87408High 8.7

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle E-Business Suite releases 12.2.3 through 12.2.15 contain a flaw in the Personalization component of Oracle Applications Framework, classified as CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery). An authenticated low-privileged user with network access via HTTP could, if another person is tricked into interacting, create, modify or delete data and access data accessible through Applications Framework. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 8.7 with a scope change, and availability is not affected.

Affected

  • Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Applications Framework (Personalization): 12.2.3 to 12.2.15

Fixed in

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update for October 2026 (released 20 October 2026). The specific patch number for this CVE is unknown; confirm it in MOS KA923 and Oracle's advisory.

Workaround

  • Unknown. The CVE record provides no workaround.
  • Unverified suggestions from third parties (restricting Personalization for low-privileged accounts, anti-CSRF tokens) are not vendor guidance and should only be tested as an interim measure.

Exploitation

  • Not listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
  • CISA SSVC (via ADP): exploitation none, not automatable.
  • No public proof of concept or exploitation reports found. This is not proof of absence.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.3 to 12.2.15 is in use and whether its self-service pages are reachable from the internet.
  • Apply the October 2026 Critical Patch Update as described in MOS KA923, in the same maintenance window, including the database and Fusion Middleware components.
  • Until patched, limit Personalization access to necessary users and monitor for unusual data changes.
  • Recheck NVD and Oracle's advisory for final patch identifiers before implementation.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
