CVE-2026-87394High 8.2

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle Outside In Technology 8.5.8, a document extraction, conversion and viewing library used in Oracle Fusion Middleware, is affected. A remote, unauthenticated attacker with HTTP network access can compromise the product, which may lead to unauthorized access to critical data and a partial denial of service. Exploitation is rated easy and needs no user interaction, but the CVSS base score is 8.2 and no public proof of concept or KEV listing was found at the time of writing.

Affected

  • Oracle Outside In Technology 8.5.8 (component: Outside In Core)
  • Other releases: Unknown.

Fixed in

Unknown. Check the Oracle Critical Patch Update October 2026 advisory for the fixed release.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround was found. Reduce exposure by restricting network access to affected services and limiting who can submit files to them.

Exploitation

  • CVSS 3.1: 8.2 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:L)
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact partial
  • Not listed in CISA KEV.
  • EPSS 0.00425 (low, aggregator snapshot).
  • Public proof of concept: none found; this does not exclude that one exists.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether any software in your environment embeds Outside In 8.5.8, especially upload, preview, conversion or indexing features.
  • Ask software vendors for patch status and apply the Oracle fix as soon as it is available, prioritising internet-facing systems.
  • Until patched, restrict network access and who can submit files to affected services.
  • Monitor KEV listing and public exploit availability.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
