Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools: Improper access control allows takeover

CVE-2026-87316High 7.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools versions 9.2.0.0 to 9.2.26.5 are affected by an improper access control flaw (CWE-284) in the Enterprise Infrastructure SEC component. An attacker with a low-privileged logon to the infrastructure where the tools run can compromise the product, with a possible takeover affecting confidentiality, integrity and availability (CVSS 3.1: 7.8). The attack is local and not directly reachable from the internet, but any low-privileged account on the host is sufficient, which makes it a lateral-movement and insider risk. No public proof of concept or evidence of exploitation was found at the time of research.

Affected

  • Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.0.0 through 9.2.26.5

Fixed in

Unknown. Check Oracle's October 2026 Critical Patch Update for the patch covering this CVE for your tools release.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor-published workaround was found. Interim measure (analysis, not vendor-confirmed): restrict who holds logons on the hosts running the tools and review accounts with access to them.

Exploitation

  • Exploited in the wild: no evidence found (secondary source, re-check CISA KEV)
  • Public proof of concept: none found
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total
  • NVD analysis was still pending at the time of research

Our recommendation

  • Identify whether JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 Tools is in use and on which hosts
  • Apply the Oracle October 2026 CPU fix for your release as soon as it is confirmed
  • Until patched, restrict and review logon accounts on the affected hosts and monitor for unusual logons and privilege changes
  • Verify the exact vector in NVD once analysed

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
