Brocade ASCG: Missing authentication in administrative management service

CVE-2026-85489High 8.7

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Brocade Active Support Connectivity Gateway (ASCG) contains an authentication flaw in its administrative management service. An unauthenticated network user can send direct API requests to read sensitive system configuration data, change managed device inventories and alter operational settings. Exploitation requires only network reachability of the management service and no user interaction.

Affected

  • Brocade ASCG all versions before 3.5.0
  • Vendor advisory states all versions before 3.5.0 are affected; some sources mention up to 3.4.x

Fixed in

  • Brocade ASCG 3.5.0 (security update)
  • Whether a backport or hotfix exists for older branches is unknown.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround confirmed. Unknown until the Broadcom advisory is reviewed.
  • Restrict access to the ASCG management interface to a dedicated administration network.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable, total technical impact.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV; no public exploit or proof of concept found.
  • EPSS 0.00215 at time of research.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether Brocade ASCG is deployed in your environment; if not, no action needed.
  • Confirm the installed version and upgrade to 3.5.0 as a priority.
  • Ensure the management interface is not reachable from user or internet networks.
  • Review logs for unexpected API requests to the ASCG management service.
  • Verify the details against the Broadcom advisory, as version information came from third-party mirrors.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
