Oracle Access Manager: Improper authentication in Authentication Engine

CVE-2026-83426High 8.7

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle Access Manager, part of Oracle Fusion Middleware, contains a flaw in its Authentication Engine that is reachable over HTTP. Versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0 are affected. An unauthenticated attacker with network access can exploit it under high attack complexity, which may compromise data in Access Manager and affect other systems, because Access Manager acts as a single sign-on gateway. Oracle rates the CVSS 3.1 base score at 8.7, with high impact on confidentiality and integrity.

Affected

  • Oracle Access Manager 12.2.1.4.0
  • Oracle Access Manager 14.1.2.1.0

Fixed in

  • Fix included in the Oracle Critical Patch Update of October 2026 (released 20 October 2026).
  • Patch IDs per version: Unknown. Check the patch availability table in the Oracle advisory.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround was identified in the sources. Check the Oracle advisory for a Workarounds section.

  • Interim measure (not from the vendor): restrict network access to the Access Manager HTTP endpoints and place them behind a reverse proxy or WAF with access rules until patching is complete.

Exploitation

  • No confirmed exploitation of this CVE found.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • EPSS 0.0031 (low) at the time of the snapshot.
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.

Our recommendation

  • Confirm whether any Oracle Access Manager instance exists and which version it runs.
  • If one exists, apply the October 2026 Oracle CPU first on internet-facing instances.
  • If patching is delayed, restrict network access to the HTTP endpoints now.
  • Review logs for unusual access to Access Manager endpoints.
  • Note that CVE-2026-87337, a separate Access Manager flaw rated 10.0, was fixed in the same CPU cycle.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
