Oracle E-Business Suite Product Hub: Privilege escalation via HTTP, takeover possible
Summary
A flaw in the Internal Operations component of Oracle Product Hub, part of Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.3 to 12.2.15, allows an attacker with a low-privileged account and network access via HTTP to take over Product Hub. The attack is hard to carry out, and a successful attack can also affect other products through a scope change. Oracle rates the CVSS 3.1 base score at 8.5 and assigns full impact to confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Affected
- Oracle E-Business Suite, Product Hub component (Internal Operations)
- Supported versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15
Fixed in
- Oracle October 2026 Critical Patch Update (released 20 October 2026)
- Specific per-CVE patch number: Unknown. See MOS Note KA923 for the Release 12 CPU and the matching Database and Fusion Middleware fixes.
Workaround
- No vendor-specific workaround found.
- Restrict HTTP access to Product Hub to internal networks or VPN until patched.
- Review which accounts have Product Hub access.
Exploitation
- In the wild: No evidence found; not listed in CISA KEV as of 21 October 2026 (not re-checked).
- Public proof of concept: None found.
- CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
Our recommendation
- Check whether an EBS 12.2.3 to 12.2.15 instance with Product Hub is in use. If not, the CVE is not applicable.
- If in use, apply the October 2026 CPU together with the database and middleware fixes, following MOS Note KA923.
- Until patched, limit HTTP access to Product Hub and review its accounts.
- Recheck the NVD record and CISA KEV before the change window, as the NVD entry was still awaiting analysis.
- Check the other Product Hub CVEs published in the same CPU.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
