HPE ArubaOS 8: Unauthenticated SQL injection allows remote code execution
Summary
A flaw in an interface of HPE ArubaOS 8 (AOS-8) allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to inject SQL statements into an affected AOS-8 instance. According to HPE, successful exploitation can allow arbitrary commands to be executed on the underlying operating system. No login is required, so an exposed management interface is directly exploitable.
Affected
- AOS-8.13.0.0 to 8.13.3.0
- AOS-8.10.0.0 to 8.10.0.23
- Verification pending: some secondary sources list 8.12.0.0 as affected; check the current HPE advisory.
Fixed in
- AOS-8.13.3.1 or later
- AOS-8.10.0.24 or later
Workaround
- Restrict access to the AOS-8 management interfaces (web UI and CLI) to a dedicated management VLAN or segment, or limit them with firewall rules.
- Remove any exposure of the management interfaces to the internet or untrusted networks.
- Enable accounting for administrative access (per secondary sources; confirm against HPE).
Exploitation
- No evidence of exploitation in the wild, according to HPE.
- Not listed in the CISA KEV catalogue as of 24 October 2026.
- No public proof-of-concept exploit known; status should be rechecked.
- CISA SSVC: automatable yes, technical impact total.
Our recommendation
- Inventory all AOS-8 Mobility Conductors, Controllers and Instant APs, including their exact versions.
- Upgrade to AOS-8.13.3.1 or AOS-8.10.0.24 (or later) as a priority.
- Remove internet exposure of management interfaces and restrict them to a management VLAN.
- Review administrative logs for unexpected activity since 22 October 2026.
- Check the live HPE advisory before any customer communication.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Vulnerabilities in the affected interface of AOS-8 could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct SQL injection attacks against an affected AOS-8 instance. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system.
