CVE-2026-68573Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Apache Kylin versions 4.0.0 through 5.0.4 allow an unauthenticated user to access system cleanup actions, which affects the metastore. The CVSS base score is 9.8 (critical). According to the vendor, the impact mainly concerns Kylin services that are directly exposed to the public internet, which is uncommon, and in-house deployments are mostly not affected.

Affected

  • Apache Kylin 4.0.0 through 5.0.4
  • Default configuration: unaffected (per CVE record)
  • Lower bound of the range is not fully confirmed by all sources; check the Apache advisory.

Fixed in

  • Apache Kylin 5.0.5 (upgrade recommended by the vendor, tracked as KYLIN-6093)

Workaround

  • No official vendor workaround found.
  • Unverified practice: keep Kylin off the public internet and restrict access to its web and API ports to admin or internal networks until the upgrade is done.

Exploitation

  • No known exploitation in the wild found.
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable yes, Technical Impact total.
  • No public proof of concept found.

Our recommendation

  • Check the asset inventory for any Kylin instance, including Docker and test environments.
  • Confirm that no Kylin instance is reachable from the internet (external scan or firewall review).
  • Upgrade affected instances to Apache Kylin 5.0.5 after checking the Apache advisory for the exact affected range.
  • Review other Kylin CVEs published at the same time.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
