NVIDIA AIStore Framework: Missing authorization in ETL management API
Summary
NVIDIA AIStore for Linux and Kubernetes contains a missing authorization flaw in its ETL management API. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach an AIStore proxy can view ETL information or start and stop existing ETL jobs by sending crafted GET or POST requests. Successful exploitation leads to information disclosure and affects the integrity and availability of ETL data-processing pipelines.
Affected
- AIStore framework versions 0 through 4.9 (per CNA data)
- NVD analysis was pending at the time of writing, so NVD's affected-version data may differ.
Fixed in
- Upgrade to AIStore 5.0 (per secondary sources; not yet confirmed in NVIDIA bulletin 5889).
- 5.0 is a major release and a mandatory bridge for 4.x clusters; test first in a non-production cluster.
Workaround
- No vendor workaround confirmed in primary sources.
- Keep AIStore proxies and targets off public networks and restrict API access (unverified, per a secondary report).
- Block external access to proxy endpoints at the network edge and Kubernetes ingress, and restrict ETL management traffic to admin networks.
Exploitation
- NVIDIA reports no exploitation in the wild.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes.
- No public proof-of-concept found; re-check before concluding.
Our recommendation
- Check whether any AIStore deployments exist and whether proxy endpoints are reachable from untrusted networks.
- If exposed, apply the mitigations above immediately and plan the upgrade to 5.0 after verifying the version in NVIDIA bulletin 5889.
- Patch together with the other CVEs in bulletin 5889, including CVE-2026-65162 and CVE-2026-65173.
- Review logs for unexpected ETL start or stop activity.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
NVIDIA AIStore for Linux and Kubernetes contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the ETL management API where an unauthenticated remote attacker may access ETL information or control existing ETL jobs by sending crafted GET or POST requests to an AIStore proxy. A successful exploit may lead to information disclosure and unauthorized start or stop operations that affect the integrity and availability of ETL data-processing pipelines.
