CVE-2026-62129Critical 9.9

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The WordPress plugin Creator LMS up to and including version 1.2.21 allows an authenticated user with Contributor rights to upload arbitrary files to the website. Patchstack rates the flaw as CVSS 9.9 (Critical) and reports that attackers could use uploaded malicious files to take over the server. NVD analysis is still pending, and the score comes from the CNA; exploitation in the wild is not known.

Affected

  • Creator LMS WordPress plugin, all versions up to and including 1.2.21
  • Required privilege: Contributor

Fixed in

  • Version 1.2.22 or later (per Patchstack and third-party aggregators; not yet confirmed on the Patchstack page)

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround known.
  • Limit or review Contributor-level accounts.
  • Configure the web server so that scripts in upload directories are not executed.

Exploitation

  • Exploited in the wild: not known.
  • SSVC data: exploitation none, not automatable.
  • No public proof of concept found; EPSS 0.00259 (very low).

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all WordPress sites with Creator LMS and record the installed version.
  • Update to the latest release, at least 1.2.22, and verify the fixed version first.
  • Review Contributor and higher accounts and remove unneeded ones.
  • Scan upload directories for unexpected script files and check for signs of compromise.
  • Treat internet-facing LMS sites with user registration as high priority.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
