WolfVision Cynap: Shared SSH key allows root access in vSolution Matrix file sharing

CVE-2026-59107Critical 9.2

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A shared cryptographic trust configuration in the vSolution Matrix file sharing feature of WolfVision Cynap devices allows an attacker who obtains the matching private key to log in via SSH as root. The issue only affects devices configured as a vSolution Matrix main/master station with file sharing enabled. The vendor reports no known active exploitation at the time of publication.

Affected

  • Cynap Pro, Cynap Core Pro: firmware versions before v1.78a, only main/master stations with file sharing enabled
  • Cynap, Cynap Core: all firmware versions, only main/master stations with file sharing enabled (discontinued)

Fixed in

  • Cynap Pro, Cynap Core Pro: firmware v1.78a (per vendor advisory)
  • Cynap, Cynap Core: no fix planned (discontinued)

Workaround

  • Disable vSolution Matrix file sharing if the feature is not required.
  • Restrict access to the vSolution Matrix file sharing service on TCP port 50930 to trusted hosts only.
  • Use dedicated, managed network segments (VLAN or firewall zone) to restrict device access to trusted hosts.

Exploitation

  • The vendor is not aware of active exploitation at the time of publication.
  • VulDB reports no exploit exists.
  • The CVE is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
  • No public proof of concept was found; status should be rechecked.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether any Cynap device is configured as a vSolution Matrix main/master station with file sharing enabled.
  • Update Cynap Pro and Cynap Core Pro to v1.78a or later, and update all stations in a vSolution Matrix installation.
  • Plan decommissioning of Cynap and Cynap Core, as no firmware fix will be provided.
  • Until patched, disable file sharing if unused and restrict TCP port 50930 to trusted hosts; check firewalls and NAT rules for exposure.
  • Monitor for unexpected SSH logins on affected devices.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
