Uminex WordPress theme: Local File Inclusion
Summary
The Uminex WordPress theme up to version 1.0.9 contains a Local File Inclusion vulnerability (CWE-98). An unauthenticated attacker can make the web server load arbitrary local files, which can expose sensitive server data and, if a PHP file is included, lead to code execution. The attack requires only network access to the website and no login, but attack complexity is rated high.
Affected
- Uminex WordPress theme, versions up to and including 1.0.9
- Default configuration: unaffected (per CNA data)
Fixed in
Unknown.
- No vendor fix or advisory found.
- Patchstack lists 'No official patch available'.
- A reseller lists a 1.1.9 build, but this is not verified and must not be treated as a fix.
Workaround
- No vendor workaround known.
- Patchstack offers a virtual patch (mitigation rule) for this issue; ask your host or Patchstack whether it applies to your site.
Exploitation
- CISA SSVC (Vulnrichment): exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
- Not marked as known exploited by the sources reviewed.
- No public proof of concept found as of 1 Nov 2026.
- EPSS about 0.003 (scoring snapshot).
- Patchstack rates the priority as high and expects exploitation.
Our recommendation
- Check whether the Uminex theme is installed or active on any public website.
- If it is unused, remove it and use another theme.
- If it is in use, ask the vendor or Patchstack for a fixed release and enable a WAF or virtual patch in the meantime.
- Keep a verified backup and monitor web server logs for unusual file access requests.
- Check for updates before each patch cycle.
