TOTOLINK X2000R: OS command injection in formMapDelDevice via macstr
Summary
The web administration interface (boa, formMapDelDevice handler) of the TOTOLINK X2000R router passes the POST parameter macstr unsanitized to a system command. An attacker who is logged in can send a crafted HTTP request and execute arbitrary operating system commands on the router. The attacker needs valid credentials, and the advisory states that PR:H (high privileges) applies in the CVSS vector.
Affected
- TOTOLINK X2000R, firmware TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327 (only build listed in the sources)
- Other firmware builds: Unknown.
Fixed in
Unknown. No vendor advisory or patched firmware version found.
Workaround
- No solution or workaround provided in the CVE record.
- Restrict or disable web management and remote administration.
- Keep the management interface off the WAN side.
- Change default administrator credentials to strong, unique passwords.
Exploitation
- CISA KEV: No.
- Public exploit: None found as of the last source update (VulDB).
- EPSS: about 1% (low).
- CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical impact total.
Our recommendation
- Check whether TOTOLINK X2000R devices are in use and whether they run the listed firmware build.
- Disable remote administration and keep the admin interface in the LAN only.
- Use strong, unique admin passwords and review existing accounts.
- Check with TOTOLINK or the reseller for a firmware update and apply it as soon as one is available.
- Monitor the router for unexpected configuration changes or outbound connections.
- Priority: medium-high if the admin page is reachable from the internet or passwords are weak; medium if LAN-only with strong credentials.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
