Teledyne FLIR Aware2: Cleartext transmission of robot control traffic
Summary
Teledyne FLIR Aware2 control software for PackBot robots sends its primary control endpoints over unencrypted HTTP. An attacker on the same local network can capture an authentication ID from session traffic. With this ID, the attacker can terminate or take over the active control session or prevent the legitimate operator from connecting. The CNA rates the issue Critical (CVSS 4.0 9.4) with an adjacent network attack vector, and no fix is known yet.
Affected
- Teledyne FLIR Aware2 up to and including 6.9.0.2 (CNA record: affected 0 to <= 6.9.0.2)
- PackBot robots running this software
- Note: the CNA record says software, other sources say firmware. Unknown which applies.
Fixed in
Unknown.
Workaround
- No vendor workaround known.
- Operator-side measure (not from a source): isolate the robot control network and keep the operator link off shared or untrusted networks.
Exploitation
- No evidence of exploitation in the wild found.
- Not listed in CISA KEV.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
- EPSS below 1 percent.
- Public proof-of-concept status unverified.
Our recommendation
- Check whether any system you operate, support or service runs Aware2 up to 6.9.0.2.
- Contact Teledyne FLIR (UGS-CHELMSFORD-TEAMS-FSE@Teledyne.com) for updated software and remediation instructions.
- Until a fix is available, isolate the control network and restrict access to the local network segment.
- Review related Mandiant advisories from the same batch, such as CVE-2026-55395.
- Monitor vendor and Mandiant publications for updates.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Cleartext transmission in the primary control endpoints of Teledyne FLIR Aware2 versions through 6.9.0.2 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to intercept, hijack, or modify session traffic against Teledyne FLIR PackBot robots running this software via sniffing or hijacking network traffic.
