CVE-2026-118073High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The WordPress plugin News Kit Elementor Addons up to and including version 1.5.0 contains a PHP Object Injection flaw (CWE-502). An attacker with a Subscriber account can submit crafted serialized data that the plugin processes unsafely, which can lead to code execution, data access or manipulation on the server, depending on other installed components. No official patch was available at the time of research, and the fixed version is unknown.

Affected

  • News Kit Elementor Addons WordPress plugin, all versions up to and including 1.5.0
  • Attacker requires a logged-in Subscriber-level account (PR:L)

Fixed in

Unknown. No fixed version has been confirmed. Check the current WordPress.org changelog and the Patchstack advisory.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround is documented.
  • Deactivate and remove the plugin if it is not needed.
  • Restrict open user registration and remove unused accounts.
  • A WAF or virtual patch from a provider such as Patchstack may block attacks until a fix is available.

Exploitation

  • Exploited in the wild: not known.
  • Public proof-of-concept or exploit: none found.
  • EPSS: 0.39 % (percentile 33).
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
  • Patchstack rates the issue as high priority and expects exploitation.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all WordPress sites running News Kit Elementor Addons and confirm the installed version.
  • Check whether self-registration is enabled and remove unused Subscriber accounts.
  • Deactivate or remove the plugin where it is not required.
  • Consider a WAF or virtual patch until a fixed release is confirmed, then update promptly.
  • Monitor Patchstack and WordPress.org for a fix and for signs of exploitation.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
