JetEngine: SQL injection in WordPress plugin
Summary
The Crocoblock JetEngine WordPress plugin up to and including version 3.9.0 contains an SQL injection vulnerability (CVE-2026-115608). An attacker with low privileges can send crafted input to a database query, which can allow reading, modifying or deleting database content, including user accounts and private data. Patchstack, the CNA, lists 3.9.0.1 as the fixed version, and no exploitation in the wild has been confirmed.
Affected
- Crocoblock JetEngine plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 3.9.0
Fixed in
- Update to version 3.9.0.1 or later (per Patchstack, the CNA).
- Verify the fix in the plugin changelog; no Crocoblock advisory was found.
- An unverified aggregator report of a related CVE (CVE-2026-39736) names 3.9.0.2 as the fix, so check for the newest release.
Workaround
- No vendor-documented workaround found.
- Patchstack advises updating; if this is not possible, ask your hosting provider or web developer for help.
Exploitation
- Not marked as known exploited.
- Patchstack rates it Low priority and unlikely to be exploited, which conflicts with the CVSS score of 8.5.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable.
- A public PoC entry exists, but it could not be verified.
Our recommendation
- Check whether JetEngine is installed and which version is running.
- Update to the latest available version, at least 3.9.0.1.
- Take a backup before updating.
- Review admin, editor and developer accounts and remove unneeded ones.
- Look for unexpected admin users or database changes.
- If updating must wait, limit who can log in with editor or developer rights.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
