Lotus: SQL injection via subscription filter keys
Summary
Lotus, an open-source pricing and billing platform, contains an SQL injection flaw (CWE-89) in how subscription filter keys are validated. An authenticated user of an organization can register crafted filter keys that pass the keyword-only validation and are inserted unquoted into usage aggregation queries. An attacker can read or manipulate data in the database shared across tenants, which may affect other tenants. The CNA rates the issue CVSS 4.0 8.7 (High); NVD has not yet published its own score.
Affected
- Uselotus Lotus up to and including 0.10.2
Fixed in
Unknown. No fixed version is listed in the sources. Check the repository for newer releases.
Workaround
- No vendor workaround published.
- Restrict who can self-register or join organizations.
- Review subscription records for unusual filter keys.
- Limit the database privileges of the application account and keep the database off external networks.
Exploitation
- No exploitation in the wild reported; not listed in CISA KEV.
- The CISA SSVC assessment in the CNA record lists exploitation as 'poc' (proof of concept) and automatable as 'no'.
- No public exploit code was confirmed in the research sources.
Our recommendation
- Identify all Lotus instances, including self-hosted ones, and their exact versions.
- Treat version 0.10.2 and earlier as high priority, especially with open registration or internet exposure.
- Apply the vendor fix once published and monitor the repository for new releases.
- Apply the workarounds above now.
- Review the related CVEs for this product together.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Lotus through 0.10.2 contains an sql injection vulnerability that allows authenticated organization users to inject SQL by registering crafted subscription_filter_keys that bypass keyword-only validation. Attackers can create subscriptions using the malicious key, which is rendered as an unquoted group-by identifier, to inject SQL into usage aggregation queries against the shared multi-tenant database.
