Trudesk: Missing authentication for ticket attachments via /uploads
Summary
Trudesk through version 1.2.11 does not enforce authentication for files under the /uploads path. Because the public directory is served before the authenticated upload route, an unauthenticated remote attacker who knows or guesses a ticket ID and filename can download confidential ticket attachments. A researcher write-up describes the request steps and predictable file paths, so exploitation is technically easy.
Affected
- Trudesk versions 0 to and including 1.2.11 (per the CVE record)
Fixed in
- Unknown. No fixed version or vendor advisory was found.
Workaround
- Deny unauthenticated requests to the upload path at the reverse proxy or web server, or move the upload directory out of the public web root (test first).
- Restrict access to the Trudesk instance via VPN, IP allowlist or SSO gateway until a fix is confirmed.
- Review web server logs for requests to /uploads/ from unknown sources.
Exploitation
- A public proof of concept (researcher write-up) exists.
- Not known to be exploited in the wild (no KEV entry).
- CISA SSVC lists exploitation as PoC and automatable as no.
Our recommendation
- Check whether internet-facing Trudesk instances run version 1.2.11 or earlier.
- Apply the mitigations above immediately, especially for internet-facing instances.
- Review logs for suspicious /uploads/ requests and treat hits as a potential data disclosure incident.
- Assess sensitive attachments already stored and rotate any credentials they contain.
- Verify afterwards that attachments are no longer retrievable without a session.
- Monitor the upstream project for a fixed release and update promptly. Consider data protection obligations (nDSG/FADP) if personal data was exposed.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Trudesk through 1.2.11 contains a missing authentication vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download private ticket attachments under /uploads. Because express.static serves the public/ directory before the hasAuth-guarded /uploads mount, attackers who know or guess a ticket ObjectId and filename can retrieve confidential attachments.
