DJI CrystalSky ZS600C: OS command injection via root helper log processing

CVE-2026-114355High 8.6

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The root-privileged hardware_monitor helper on the DJI CrystalSky ZS600C (Android) with firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 passes data read from the Android log (logcat) to a shell eval. A local, unprivileged process can write a crafted log line and run arbitrary commands as root, with no user interaction needed. The device is end-of-life, and no fixed firmware is known.

Affected

  • DJI CrystalSky ZS600C, firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 (Android); - Default status: unaffected (per CNA record).

Fixed in

Unknown. No fixed firmware found; v0.6.6.9 is the last release and the device is end-of-life.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround documented. Generic measures: - Restrict who can install apps or use ADB on the device; - Keep the device out of shared or untrusted environments.

Exploitation

  • Not marked as known exploited (not in KEV). - No public proof of concept found. - CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether any CrystalSky ZS600C units are in use and inventory them with firmware version. - Restrict app installation and ADB access on these devices. - Isolate them from untrusted networks and users. - Monitor DJI for firmware newer than v0.6.6.9 and plan replacement, since the device is end-of-life.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)

OS command injection in the root-privileged 'hardware_monitor' helper in DJI CrystalSky ZS600C firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 on Android allows a local unprivileged process to execute arbitrary commands as root by writing a crafted line to the Android log (logcat), which the helper reads and passes to a shell eval.
