DJI CrystalSky ZS600C: Command injection as root via Android binder service

CVE-2026-114354High 8.6

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The native binder service android.dji.server on the DJI CrystalSky ZS600C in firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 accepts a string from any calling app without an identity or permission check and passes it to system() in a root-privileged daemon. A locally installed app with no permissions can therefore execute arbitrary operating system commands as root. Exploitation requires a malicious or compromised app on the device; no public proof of concept or known exploitation was found.

Affected

  • DJI CrystalSky ZS600C, firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 (Android)
  • Source records differ on whether 0.3.9.7 is affected by default; treat the whole range as affected until DJI or the CNA clarifies.

Fixed in

Unknown. No DJI security advisory or firmware fix was found. The device is reported as end-of-life and unsupported.

Workaround

  • No vendor-documented workaround known.
  • Allow only trusted, managed apps and remove unneeded apps.
  • Restrict physical and USB access to the device.
  • Keep the device off company networks where possible.

Exploitation

  • Not known exploited; not listed in CISA KEV.
  • No public proof of concept found; this does not prove none exists.
  • EPSS 0.0013 (low).
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
  • Related sibling CVEs in the same firmware range may be chained for root access.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all ZS600C units and identify who uses them and which apps they run.
  • Treat the devices as untrusted endpoints until DJI publishes a fix.
  • Remove unneeded apps and restrict app installation and physical/USB access.
  • Plan replacement, as the device is end-of-life.
  • Recheck NVD and DJI support pages for updates.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Research sources

Original description (NVD)

Missing authorization in the native binder service 'android.dji.server' (transaction code 1018) in DJI CrystalSky ZS600C firmware v0.3.9.7 through v0.6.6.9 on Android allows a local application with no permissions to execute arbitrary OS commands as root, because the handler passes a caller-supplied string to system() in the root-privileged 'assistant' daemon without any caller-identity or permission check.
