Trigger.dev: Cross-tenant SQL injection in TSQL query compiler
Summary
Trigger.dev before 4.5.6 contains an SQL injection flaw in the TSQL query compiler, which processes requests to the customer query endpoint POST /api/v1/query. An authenticated customer can inject SQL through a window-function name and read analytics data of other organizations in a shared deployment. The attack requires only a valid customer account or API key, and the impact is limited to confidentiality.
Affected
- trigger.dev (npm) versions before 4.5.6
- Sources conflict on the start of the range (one lists 4.4.2 onward). Treat all versions before 4.5.6 as affected.
Fixed in
- Upgrade to trigger.dev 4.5.6 or later.
Workaround
- No workaround is documented by the vendor.
- Interim measures (own recommendation, not from a source): restrict API keys to trusted users, rotate keys held by external parties or former staff, and review logs of requests to POST /api/v1/query until the upgrade is applied.
Exploitation
- CISA SSVC: exploitation status 'poc' (proof of concept), automatable: no.
- Not listed as known exploited.
- The vendor advisory describes a reproduction; no separate public exploit code was found.
Our recommendation
- Check whether trigger.dev is used directly or as a dependency, including lockfiles and container images.
- Upgrade to 4.5.6 or later, with priority for shared or internet-facing instances.
- Until the upgrade is done, restrict API keys, rotate keys of external parties or former staff, and review logs of POST /api/v1/query requests.
- Also check CVE-2026-114084, which is fixed in the same release.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
Trigger.dev before 4.5.6 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in the TSQL query compiler, which concatenates window-function names into generated ClickHouse SQL without allowlisting or escaping. Authenticated customers can submit a backtick-quoted identifier to POST /api/v1/query that injects a raw subquery outside the per-tenant WHERE guard, exfiltrating other organizations' analytics data.
