CVE-2026-113106High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A memory corruption flaw in Skia, the 2D graphics library used by Google Chrome, allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attacker needs only to lure a user to a crafted HTML page, and no authentication is required, but the user must load the page. According to the CVE record, code execution is confined to the sandbox, and a full system compromise would require a further vulnerability. Google rates the Chromium security severity as Medium, and no active exploitation is known.

Affected

  • Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47\n- Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) prior to 156.0.4314.42 (per HKCERT bulletin)

Fixed in

Workaround

  • No vendor-stated workaround. Applying the browser update is the fix.

Exploitation

  • No known exploitation in the sources reviewed.\n- CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.\n- EPSS 0.00417 (low).\n- CISA KEV catalogue not checked directly; verify there.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to 156.0.8078.47 or later, using the newest build from Google's stable channel.\n- Update Microsoft Edge to 156.0.4314.42 or later.\n- Verify browser versions on all managed devices, especially where auto-update is disabled.\n- Monitor for unexpected browser crashes and check the CISA KEV catalogue for changes.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
