Google Chrome: Use-after-free in Streaming allows code execution in sandbox

CVE-2026-113033High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.47 contains a use-after-free vulnerability (CWE-416) in the Streaming component. A remote attacker can use a crafted HTML page to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. User interaction is required (visiting the page), but no privileges. A full system compromise would also need a sandbox escape, which this CVE does not cover.

Affected

  • Google Chrome desktop versions prior to 156.0.8078.47
  • Chromium-based browsers that have not received the fix

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 or later (version reported by the release post and NVD description)
  • The newest stable 156 build is recommended. The vendor advisory could not be fully retrieved, so confirm the exact per-platform build there.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround has been identified. Apply the update.

Exploitation

  • No known exploitation in the wild.
  • A third-party tracker reports that the CVE is not in the CISA KEV catalog. This was not verified directly.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • EPSS of 0.00443 (low exploitation probability estimate).

Our recommendation

  • Verify that Chrome is at 156.0.8078.47 or later on all endpoints, preferably the latest 156 build.
  • Verify that Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge are updated.
  • Check that automatic updates work on managed devices.
  • Monitor the vendor advisory and the CISA KEV catalog for changes.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
