Fixed in

  • Fixed in Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 or later, according to the NVD description.
  • The exact fixed build could not be confirmed from the vendor advisory; verify it against the Chromium bug 532939000 or the Chrome release notes.

Unknown.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of in-the-wild exploitation found.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • A third-party tracker lists the CVE as not in CISA KEV; verify directly against the KEV catalogue.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome on all Windows endpoints to the newest Chrome 156 stable build, not only 156.0.8078.47.
  • Check the Microsoft Edge version separately, since Edge (Chromium) also ingests this fix.
  • Enable automatic browser updates and confirm the installed versions across the fleet.
  • Treat this as an urgent browser update rather than a routine patch.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
