CVE-2026-112848Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The AivahThemes Hostme v2 WordPress theme up to and including version 7.0 contains a PHP object injection flaw (CWE-502) caused by unsafe deserialization of untrusted data. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send crafted input to a public site, which could allow harmful actions on the server, such as manipulating data or running code, depending on the PHP classes available. No vendor fix has been confirmed, and the CVSS base score is 9.8 (Critical).

Affected

  • AivahThemes Hostme v2 (theme folder hostmev2), all versions up to and including 7.0
  • Start of the affected range: n/a

Fixed in

Unknown. No fixed version has been confirmed. Do not assume that any version above 7.0 is patched.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround found.
  • Deactivate and replace the theme where possible.
  • If the theme must remain in use, restrict public access to the site where feasible.
  • Apply WAF rules or virtual patching only after reviewing them against the Patchstack advisory.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of known exploitation in the wild in the sources reviewed.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact total.
  • EPSS 0.00313 (low).
  • Patchstack rates the issue as high priority and expects exploitation.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether the theme is installed on any internet-facing site.
  • Replace the theme or restrict public access as far as possible.
  • Check the Patchstack advisory and the ThemeForest changelog regularly for a fix.
  • Also review CVE-2026-112849, a cross-site scripting issue in the same theme.
  • Monitor web server logs for unusual requests.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
