Rootblox WordPress plugin: Local File Inclusion
Summary
The Rootblox WordPress plugin by CozyThemes up to and including version 1.0.6 contains a Local File Inclusion vulnerability (CVE-2026-112832, CVSS 9.8). An unauthenticated attacker can make the website load server files it should not access, which can sometimes lead to a full takeover of the site. Any internet-facing WordPress site running the affected plugin version is potentially exposed.
Affected
- Rootblox WordPress plugin by CozyThemes, versions up to and including 1.0.6
Fixed in
- Version 1.0.7 (changelog dated 8 October 2026)
Workaround
- No workaround documented by the sources.
- If an update is delayed, deactivating the plugin until it is patched removes the exposure (recommendation of the research team, not from a vendor source).
Exploitation
- Not listed in CISA KEV at the time of writing.
- Patchstack expects exploitation and rates the flaw high priority, but this is a prediction, not evidence of attacks.
- A public PoC entry exists on Sploitus, but a working public exploit could not be verified.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact total.
Our recommendation
- Update the Rootblox plugin to version 1.0.7 or later on every WordPress installation, including staging and agency-managed sites.
- If an update is not possible immediately, deactivate the plugin or ask your hosting provider or web developer for help.
- Review web server logs for unusual requests to the plugin files.
- Recheck CISA KEV and exploitation reports, as the CVE is very recent.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
