FunnelKit Automations WordPress plugin: Blind SQL injection
Summary
The FunnelKit Automations WordPress plugin up to and including version 3.8.5.2 contains a blind SQL injection vulnerability (CWE-89). An unauthenticated attacker can send crafted requests over the network to read, modify or delete data in the site's database, which may include user accounts and customer data. The CNA rates it critical (CVSS 9.3), while VulDB rates it 7.3.
Affected
- FunnelKit Automations (wp-marketing-automations), versions up to and including 3.8.5.2
Fixed in
- Patchstack and the CNA report version 3.8.6 as the fixed version. Verify this on the WordPress.org changelog.
- Install the latest available release. CVE-2026-39738 (PHP object injection) affects versions up to 3.8.6.1.
Workaround
- No vendor workaround known.
- Deactivate the plugin until it is patched.
- Use a WAF or virtual patching in front of the site. Patchstack reports a mitigation rule for this issue.
- Restrict database user privileges and review logs for unusual requests to the plugin.
Exploitation
- Not known to be exploited in the wild. Strix lists KEV: No.
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes.
- No public proof of concept found at the time of research.
- Patchstack expects exploitation, so the status may change quickly.
Our recommendation
- Inventory all WordPress/WooCommerce sites that use FunnelKit Automations.
- Update to the latest release, at least 3.8.6, and check later advisories.
- If patching is delayed, deactivate the plugin or enable WAF protection.
- Review logs and assess possible customer data exposure if the site was vulnerable before patching.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
