Google Chrome: Memory corruption in V8 allows code execution in sandbox

CVE-2026-110920High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome versions prior to 155.0.8059.84 contain a memory corruption flaw in the V8 JavaScript engine (CWE-119). A remote attacker can use a crafted HTML page to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The victim must open the malicious page, for example through a phishing link, and no privileges are required. Google rates the Chromium security severity as High, and NVD rates the CVSS score as 8.8.

Affected

  • Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.84 (desktop)
  • Chromium-based builds that include the affected V8 code, until their own patches are installed

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.84 or later for Linux
  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.84/.85 or later for Windows and Mac (per the vendor release notes; verify the exact builds in the advisory)
  • Fedora: chromium-155.0.8059.84
  • Ubuntu: confirm that the Chromium snap is current

Workaround

Unknown. Updating is the fix. Restart the browser after the update, because the fix only takes effect after a restart.

Exploitation

  • Not confirmed as exploited in the wild; Google has not stated exploitation.
  • Not listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
  • No public proof of concept found; this is unverified rather than confirmed absent.

Our recommendation

  • Update Chrome to 155.0.8059.84 or later across all workstations and restart the browsers.
  • Update Linux packages and the Chromium snap, if used.
  • Check that Edge, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers have received their own patches.
  • Prioritise users who browse external or untrusted content, and remind staff to be cautious with unknown links.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
