Google Chrome: Use-after-free in DOM allows sandboxed code execution

CVE-2026-110163High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome versions before 155.0.8059.79 contain a use-after-free vulnerability in the DOM component. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by luring a user to a crafted HTML page. Exploitation requires that the user visits the page, and a full compromise typically needs an additional sandbox escape that is not described.

Affected

  • Google Chrome before 155.0.8059.79 (desktop)
  • Debian: chromium before 155.0.8059.79-1~deb12u1
  • Ubuntu: Chromium snap (chromium-browser deb package is not affected)

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.79 or later (Windows, Linux); 155.0.8059.79/.80 (Windows, Mac), per Stable Channel Update for Desktop of 13 October 2026
  • Debian: 155.0.8059.79-1~deb12u1 (DSA 6562-1)
  • Fedora 43 and 44: chromium update issued

Workaround

  • No workaround needed; apply the vendor update.
  • Ensure Chrome auto-update works and restart the browser to complete a pending update.
  • Use Chrome enterprise release channels to control the rollout.

Exploitation

  • Not known to be exploited in the wild; not listed in CISA KEV.
  • EPSS is low (0.22% per a GitHub aggregator).
  • No public proof-of-concept found.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.

Our recommendation

  • Confirm all Chrome installations (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android) run 155.0.8059.79 or later, or the distribution versions listed above.
  • Check EDR or MDM reports for Chrome builds older than 155.0.8059.79.
  • Restart browsers that have a pending update.
  • Re-check CISA KEV and the Chrome release page for changes.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
