Google Chrome: Use-after-free in SVG rendering

CVE-2026-110157High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome contains a use-after-free flaw (CWE-416) in its SVG rendering component. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code inside the browser's renderer sandbox by luring a user to a crafted HTML page. User interaction is required, but no authentication. Google and NVD rate the issue High (CVSS 8.8).

Affected

  • Google Chrome versions prior to 155.0.8059.79
  • Desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux

Fixed in

  • Windows and macOS: 155.0.8059.79 or 155.0.8059.80
  • Linux: 155.0.8059.79
  • Android: sources conflict (155.0.8059.79 or 155.0.8059.84 on Google Play); check the installed build
  • Debian bookworm: 155.0.8059.79-1~deb12u1
  • Ubuntu: updates are delivered via Snap

Workaround

  • No workaround; apply the browser update.
  • Until patched, limit browsing of untrusted sites and keep browser extensions to a minimum.

Exploitation

  • Not confirmed in the wild according to one secondary source; not verified in Google's advisory.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.

Our recommendation

  • Verify that all Chrome installations are at 155.0.8059.79 or later, preferably the current stable release.
  • Enforce automatic updates via endpoint management and check versions on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.
  • Restrict browsing of untrusted sites and minimise extensions until patched.
  • Rate as High for your environment.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
