Google Chrome: Use-after-free in WebRTC allows code execution in sandbox

CVE-2026-110137High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A use-after-free flaw in the WebRTC component of Google Chrome allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attack requires a user to visit a crafted or compromised HTML page. The NVD description does not describe a sandbox escape, so the impact is limited to the sandbox unless it is chained with a second flaw.

Affected

  • Google Chrome desktop versions before 155.0.8059.79 (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Debian bookworm packages before 155.0.8059.79-1~deb12u1
  • Ubuntu: chromium-browser package is listed as not affected; it installs the Chromium snap, which must be refreshed
  • Other Chromium-based browsers: unknown, check with their vendors

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.79 (Linux)
  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.79/.80 (Windows, macOS, per secondary reports)
  • Debian bookworm: 155.0.8059.79-1~deb12u1
  • Ubuntu: refresh the Chromium snap to the current version (snap version not verified)

Workaround

No workaround documented. Update Chrome.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable
  • No evidence of exploitation in the wild found; not listed in CISA KEV according to a third-party tracker
  • No public proof of concept found
  • EPSS about 0.21% per a third-party tracker

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to 155.0.8059.79 or later on all workstations and verify the installed version
  • Use endpoint management to list Chrome versions and flag older builds
  • Force a browser restart after the update has been downloaded, as rollout is staged
  • Refresh the Chromium snap on Ubuntu systems and check other Chromium-based browsers and embedded applications
  • Prioritise internet-facing user workstations within the normal update cycle

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
