Adobe ColdFusion: Code injection allows arbitrary code execution

CVE-2026-106624Critical 10.0

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Adobe ColdFusion 2023 and 2025 contain a code injection flaw (CWE-94) that can lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the ColdFusion service. According to the CVE record, no user interaction or privileges are required and the attack can be carried out over the network. Because the scope is changed, an attacker could affect resources beyond the ColdFusion component itself.

Affected

  • Adobe ColdFusion 2025 up to and including 2025.0.13
  • Adobe ColdFusion 2023 up to and including 2023.0.25
  • Platform: All

Fixed in

  • Adobe ColdFusion 2025 Update 14 (2025.0.14)
  • Adobe ColdFusion 2023 Update 26 (2023.0.26)
  • Fixed in the security update APSB26-144 released October 13, 2026

Workaround

Unknown. No workaround is documented for this CVE. The vendor only recommends keeping the JDK/JRE LTS version current. The WebSocket invocation changes in 2023 Update 26 need application testing and are not an interim mitigation.

Exploitation

  • Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild for the issues in this bulletin.
  • No public proof-of-concept was found in the research.
  • CISA SSVC assessment: Exploitation: none, Automatable: yes, Technical Impact: total.
  • Separate ColdFusion flaw CVE-2026-48282 is known to be exploited in the wild; it is a different CVE.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all ColdFusion instances, including internal and forgotten ones.
  • Patch internet-facing and unauthenticated-reachable instances first, within days.
  • Treat the patch as priority 1, because the bulletin's version table marks the fixed releases as priority 1, although its summary says priority 2.
  • Test the update against your applications before rollout.
  • Check the bulletin APSB26-144 for the per-CVE CVSS score; sources differ (10.0 vs. 9.8).
  • Review logs for suspicious web-server child processes or unexpected files.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
