Google Chrome: Use after free in Parser allows sandboxed code execution

CVE-2026-106411High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome before 155.0.8059.39 contains a use-after-free flaw in its HTML parser (CWE-416). A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by tricking a user into opening a crafted HTML page. The CNA rates the issue at CVSS 8.8 (High). Chromium Security rates it as High severity.

Affected

  • Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39
  • Per the third-party advisory summary, Windows and Mac builds prior to 155.0.8059.39/.40 and Linux builds prior to 155.0.8059.39
  • Chromium-based browsers that ingest the affected Chromium code (for example Microsoft Edge), until they are updated

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.39 or later (Windows/Mac 155.0.8059.39/.40 according to secondary sources; verify against the Google advisory)
  • Later Chrome 155 stable updates include this fix
  • Debian chromium 155.0.8059.39-1~deb12u1 and openSUSE Tumbleweed chromium 155.0.8059.39-1.1 according to distribution data

Workaround

Unknown. No workaround is documented in the sources. Updating the browser is the fix.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total
  • CISA ADP data does not mark the CVE as known exploited
  • No public proof of concept or exploitation report was found in the sources

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to the latest stable 155 release on all endpoints and verify the version
  • Check that other Chromium-based browsers (for example Microsoft Edge) and Linux chromium packages are updated
  • Enforce updates through managed deployment, because staged rollouts can delay some machines
  • Prioritise browsers that are used for general web browsing

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
