Affected

  • Google Chrome for macOS prior to 155.0.8059.39
  • The CVE record's version range is internally inconsistent; the description is used here.

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.39 or later for macOS (the vendor's Stable Channel update of 6 October 2026 lists 155.0.8059.39/.40 for Windows and Mac)
  • Later stable builds are also available; install the current stable release.

Workaround

Unknown. No workaround is documented in the CVE record or by the vendor.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of exploitation in the wild found.
  • CISA SSVC assessment: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact partial.
  • No public proof of concept found.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome on all macOS devices to the current stable release.
  • Make sure automatic updates are not blocked; enforce the update through MDM or Chrome policy in managed fleets.
  • Treat this as a regular patch item, with higher priority where users handle sensitive data in the browser.
  • Check that no macOS Chrome installation is outdated.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
