CVE-2026-106269High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A use-after-free vulnerability in the CSS component of Google Chrome before 155.0.8059.39 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attacker must lure a victim to a crafted HTML page, for example via a phishing link or a compromised website. NVD rates the issue CVSS 8.8 (High), while Google rates it Low in its Chromium severity scale.

Affected

  • Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39
  • Other Chromium-based browsers and distributions until they ship the fix (e.g. Debian, SUSE, Chainguard packages)

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.39 or later
  • Debian bookworm: 155.0.8059.39-1~deb12u1
  • Microsoft Edge: check Microsoft's release notes for the correct build (sources conflict)

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround is known; updating is the fix.

Exploitation

  • Not known to be exploited in the wild; not listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
  • No public proof of concept found.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to 155.0.8059.39 or later on all workstations, including laptops and devices of remote workers.
  • Verify that automatic updates are applied and check the installed browser versions.
  • Check other Chromium-based browsers and embedded Chromium builds (for example Edge, Electron apps) for fixed versions.
  • Monitor for reports of exploitation and patch promptly, as the exposure is broad.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
