CVE-2026-106238High 8.3

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A race condition in the Fonts component of Google Chrome before 155.0.8059.39 can be triggered by a remote attacker using a crafted HTML page. The attacker must first have compromised the renderer process, after which the flaw can allow code execution outside the browser sandbox. Chromium rates the issue Medium, while NVD scores it 8.3 (High).

Affected

  • Google Chrome before 155.0.8059.39 (per CVE description)

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 155.0.8059.39 (Windows and Mac 155.0.8059.39/.40, Linux 155.0.8059.39)
  • Later Chrome 155 stable builds also include the fix; install the newest stable release

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround is documented. Installing the fixed version is the remedy.

Exploitation

  • Not known to be exploited in the wild; not listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total.
  • No public exploit known.

Our recommendation

  • Verify that all Chrome installations run the current stable build and that automatic updates are enabled.
  • Check versions centrally, e.g. with Chrome Browser Cloud Management or group policy.
  • Restart the browser after updating.
  • Monitor for unusual browser crashes or unexpected processes on endpoints.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
