Adobe ColdFusion: Incorrect authorization allowing arbitrary code execution

CVE-2026-106089High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Adobe ColdFusion versions 2023 up to 2023.0.25 and 2025 up to 2025.0.13 contain an Incorrect Authorization flaw (CWE-863). An attacker with local access and a low-privileged ColdFusion account can execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. The scope is changed, so the impact can extend beyond the vulnerable component, and no user interaction is required. Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild.

Affected

  • Adobe ColdFusion 2025: 0 to 2025.0.13
  • Adobe ColdFusion 2023: 0 to 2023.0.25

Fixed in

  • Adobe ColdFusion 2025: 2025.0.14 (Update 14)
  • Adobe ColdFusion 2023: 2023.0.26 (Update 26)

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor-published workaround was found. Applying the update is the fix.

Exploitation

  • Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild.
  • CISA SSVC assessment: exploitation none, not automatable, total technical impact.
  • Public proof of concept: none known.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all ColdFusion 2023 and 2025 instances, especially those reachable from the internet.
  • Patch to 2025 Update 14 or 2023 Update 26 as a priority. Adobe classifies these deployment updates as Priority 1.
  • Review ColdFusion accounts, especially low-privileged ones, and restrict Administrator and package management permissions.
  • Verify the CWE and CVSS entries for this CVE on the live Adobe bulletin, because the bulletin text lists this CVE twice with different details.
  • Patch the other network-reachable issues in the same bulletin at the same time.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
