Adobe ColdFusion: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) with privilege escalation
Summary
Adobe ColdFusion 2025 (up to 2025.0.13) and ColdFusion 2023 (up to 2023.0.25) contain a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability, CVE-2026-105897. An attacker with network access to the server can send crafted requests from the server without credentials or user interaction, and the impact can extend beyond ColdFusion itself. Adobe states the issue can result in privilege escalation, and the CVSS vector rates the confidentiality impact as high. Adobe is not aware of any exploitation in the wild.
Affected
- Adobe ColdFusion 2025: 0 to 2025.0.13
- Adobe ColdFusion 2023: 0 to 2023.0.25
Fixed in
- Adobe ColdFusion 2025: update to 2025.0.14 or later
- Adobe ColdFusion 2023: update to 2023.0.26 or later
- Fixed in the updates released October 13, 2026 (APSB26-144)
Workaround
- No vendor workaround documented. The update is the remedy.
- Do not disable SSRF protection (JVM flag coldfusion.security.ssrf.disableProtection).
- Until patched, restrict outbound connections from the ColdFusion server to internal networks and cloud metadata addresses. This is general hardening, not a vendor-specified fix.
Exploitation
- Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild for the issues in this update.
- Tenable and the Zero Day Initiative list the related issues as not exploited.
- No public proof of concept was found for this CVE. Monitor for changes.
Our recommendation
- Inventory all ColdFusion instances and their versions, and check whether they are reachable from the internet.
- Update to 2025.0.14 or 2023.0.26 or later, and test applications before rollout, as the update changes behaviour.
- Do not disable the SSRF protection flag.
- Verify the NVD record for CVE-2026-105897 and watch for public exploit reports.
- Treat the update as urgent for internet-facing servers.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
