Ghost: Staff enumeration via observable discrepancies in Content API

CVE-2026-103272High 8.7

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Ghost versions from 2.10.0 before 6.63.0 contain a staff enumeration flaw in the Content API. An unauthenticated attacker can observe differences in API metadata responses to identify staff members and extract user data. The Content API is publicly reachable on Ghost sites by design, so any internet-facing installation in the affected range is exposed. The realistic harm is disclosure of staff identities and related data, which can support targeted phishing; the CNA vector shows no integrity or availability impact.

Affected

  • Ghost from 2.10.0 up to, but not including, 6.63.0
  • Self-hosted Docker and Ghost-CLI installations in this range

Fixed in

  • Ghost 6.63.0 or later

Workaround

Unknown.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact partial.
  • No public proof of concept found and no evidence of exploitation in the wild in the sources reviewed.
  • EPSS 0.00365 (low predicted exploitation probability).

Our recommendation

  • Identify all Ghost instances in client environments, including self-hosted and Docker-based installations.
  • Update affected instances to Ghost 6.63.0 or later in the next maintenance window, or sooner if staff profiles are publicly visible.
  • If an update is delayed, limit access to admin and staff-facing surfaces and monitor for unusual Content API request patterns.
  • Verify the installed version after the update.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
