Arista Wi-Fi Access Points: Memory corruption in wired uplink endpoints

CVE-2026-102167Critical 9.0

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Affected Arista Wi-Fi access points contain a memory corruption flaw in their wired uplink network endpoints. An unauthenticated attacker on the same network segment as the access point's wired uplink can crash the sensor service or potentially achieve remote code execution. The CVE record classifies the flaw as CWE-121 (stack-based buffer overflow).

Affected

  • Arista Wi-Fi access point firmware 22.0.0 to 22.0.1F-32
  • Arista Wi-Fi access point firmware 21.3.0 to 21.3.0M-13
  • Arista Wi-Fi access point firmware 1.0.0 to below 21.3.0
  • Versions before 21.3.0 are listed as affected in the vendor record; the vendor marks the default configuration as unaffected for the earlier train.

Fixed in

  • 22.1.1F-61 and later in the 22.x train
  • 21.4.0M-12 and later in the 21.x train

Workaround

No mitigation or workaround available.

Exploitation

  • No exploitation reports or public proof-of-concept code known at the time of research.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable, total technical impact.
  • Exploitation requires access to the access point's wired uplink network segment.

Our recommendation

  • Update affected access points to the fixed releases 22.1.1F-61 or later (22.x) or 21.4.0M-12 or later (21.x).
  • Until patched, restrict access to the wired uplink network segment of the access points.
  • Inventory all Arista access points and verify firmware versions.
  • Monitor access point logs for sensor service crashes.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)

On affected Arista Wi-Fi access points, a memory corruption vulnerability exists in access point's wired uplink network endpoints. An unauthenticated attacker can crash the sensor service or potentially achieve remote code execution. Exploitation requires the attacker to be on the same network segment as the access point's wired uplink.
