Arista CloudVision CUE: OS command injection in backup management

CVE-2026-102160High 8.6

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

An authenticated Super User of Arista CloudVision CUE can submit a crafted backup request that injects OS commands. Arbitrary commands then run with the privileges of the affected service. Arista lists the on-premises deployment as affected; the vulnerability only applies when the CV-CUE backend (wifimanager) is enabled and running.

Affected

  • CloudVision CUE 2021.2.0 to 2026.2.0 (on-premises)
  • Default configuration: unaffected
  • Vulnerable only if the CV-CUE backend (wifimanager) is enabled and running

Fixed in

  • 2026.2.1 and later releases
  • No backports to older release trains are named by Arista; ask Arista support for older versions. 2026.2 is listed as the final supported on-premises release.

Workaround

  • Arista states that no mitigation or workaround is available.

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable, total technical impact.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV.
  • No public proof-of-concept or exploitation in the wild known so far.

Our recommendation

  • Identify all on-premises CloudVision Portal or CV-CUE deployments and their versions.
  • Plan the upgrade to 2026.2.1 or later, prioritising internet-reachable systems, together with the fixes for CVE-2026-102159 in the same advisory.
  • Until patched, restrict Super User accounts, review administrator accounts and block external access to the management interface.
  • Monitor for unusual backup requests or new processes on the appliance.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
